How Does Fat Grafting Work?
Fat grafting is ideal for patients looking to fill out their facial features as they age because it is subtle, and most importantly, minimally-invasive. It has become an increasingly popular way to combat the negative aesthetic effects of aging. The procedure itself is simple. We take fat from areas of your body that have excess amounts of fat and process it so it can be used to fill out your facial features.
We perform micro-liposuction during the procedure. Usually, we take fat from the abdomen or thighs. Then, we process the fat and inject it into targeted areas of the face. It is essential to remember that each patient is different. For that reason, the amount of fat that survives the transfer will vary. However, most patients can expect approximately fifty percent of the transferred fat to survive the process, leading to a more youthful presence of volume and contour.
